High Court Trustee Jim Demulling Retires
Jim Demulling of Assumption 1291, Osceola, Wis., will retire from the High Court as of January 1, 2017. Demulling was first elected to the High Court in 2003, and he has attended seven national conventions. He was awarded the Legion of Honor (Third Degree) and Merit Award from COF. He is active in his local court, as he currently services as Chief Ranger (since 1968) and Financial Secretary (since 1995) of Assumption 1291. He is the chairman of his court's annual Matching Funds event, and he assists in organizing Feeding God's Children events. Demulling is also very active in his local parish, having served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister for 45 years.
He is active in his community, volunteering monthly at Ruby's Pantry, and helping out at Stuffed Animal Ministry since 2001. This ministry is a non-profit organization that donates stuffed animals to hospitals, nursing homes, and crisis centers nationwide. In 2010, Demulling was appointed president of Stuffed Animal Ministry.
Throughout his 13+ years on the High Court, Demulling was honored to be chairman of several committees. "Because of these positions, I feel I made a difference to all COF members, especially in the fraternal programs," he says. Some of his fondest memories are traveling throughout the state of Wisconsin and presenting members with Legion of Honor and Merit Awards, 75-year pins and scholarships. "These events helped me to spread fraternalism and make lasting friendships with many COF members," Demulling says of these experiences. "These are years I will never forget. I felt honored and privileged to have served for all of these years. I wish the new Trustees well in the future, and hope they enjoy their time as much as I have."
