Woods Wins Award, Donates Proceeds to Hometown Parish

General Agent Janet Woods supports Immaculate Conception Parish with donation.

Janet Woods, a General Agent with Catholic Order of Foresters, earned a Richard Tobin Benevolence Award based on production in the 2018 calendar year for Write Life New Members. Woods, of Gilbertville, Iowa, chose to donate the money associated with the award to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. “Immaculate Conception is my hometown parish where I have received all of my sacraments,” Woods said. “They've recently ordained a new priest from this parish and also have a parishioner who will be ordained a deacon soon.” The money will assist the parish in purchasing vestments for the new deacon.

Catholic Order of Foresters’ top 20 agents earned Richard Tobin Benevolence Awards, worth $500 each, in 2018. Catholic Order of Foresters (COF) donates the money to the church, school or community organization of each agent’s choice. These awards are made possible through COF’s Welfare and Relief Fund. The late High Chief Ranger Richard Tobin established this fund to allocate money for fraternal good.
