Kentucky Court Brightens Christmas for Local Families

A local Kentucky court refused to let their neighbors go hungry during the holidays.

Christmas can be a difficult time for families if they’re struggling to make ends meet, but when the principal of St. Augustine School in Covington, Ky., informed St. Joseph Academy 2507, Walton, Ky., of the need for food donations to send home with families for the holidays, court members were quick to help. [The students] collected over 1,000 food items!” Jennie Searp, Development Director of St. Joseph Academy, said of the Feeding God’s Children event. It was nothing short of a success with a total of 140 participants, youth and adults, members and non-members alike. Jennie added, “Our eighth grade won a pizza party for collecting the most items for Feeding God’s Children! They also made themselves a trophy to be passed on to our future winners.” These students are a great example of how outreach can be fun for everyone and highly productive at the same time; it certainly made Christmas a little brighter for the recipient families.
