Charitable Endowment Program

Giving the Gift that Grows

Charitable gift giving through life insurance offers a unique way to give a large gift through a series of small annual premiums.

Shirley and Mike Armstrong love their church. They attend Mass regularly, and Shirley helps out by teaching CCD classes.

With their grandchildren now enrolled in the parish school, they have an extra appreciation for the Catholic influence of parochial education.

They know the church struggles to keep the school open. Every year extra appeals and fund raisers take place. And every year, the Armstrongs give their share.

But the Armstrongs want to do more. When they learned that life insurance could be used as a long-term vehicle for giving, they were interested. They contributed small annual premiums to a life insurance policy on Mike's life and designated the parish as owner and beneficiary.  At the time of Mike's death, the parish would receive a much larger gift than the Armstrongs could ever hope to contribute.

Plus, they could elect to make the contribution for seven years and consider the gift completed.

Shirley and Mike feel good about finding a way to provide a meaningful gift without depleting their personal assets. On top of that, for them, the annual premium is tax deductible.

You too can make a similar contribution. Learn about the Charitable Endowment Program, available through the Catholic Order of Foresters.
