Impacting Lives—Feeding God’s Children May 5, 20121 In
May 2011, COF experienced a phenomenal participation increase
when 112 courts and more than 7,900 volunteers fed God’s
children. This service day was held in conjunction with American
Fraternal Alliance’s Join Hands Day. What contributed to 2011’s success? The
participation upsurge reflects the number of courts and agents
who partnered with local Catholic schools, parish youth groups,
Confirmation class students, and community youth organizations.
Increased numbers provided increased opportunities to tackle
bigger projects, feed more people, pack more meals, stock more
food shelves, clean more parks, church, and school grounds.
During the past three years, one such ongoing and growing
partnership of courts, agents, and schools allowed the group to
restock nine food pantries in 2011, an increase of seven since
their first 2008 FGC project. Take a minute to familiarize yourself with
